REFLECTIONS ON SURAH AL-ANBIYAA

Surah Al Anbiyaa ( The Prophets)

This surah starts with warning.

  • اقتربللناسحسابهم

The audit is coming near and people are completly ignoring that. People do not take these warnings seriously. People are heedless. Ayah 1-3

  •  كل نفس ذاءقة الموت

Everyone is going to taste death and We (Allah) ‘ll test every one with evil and good, and you ll return to Us. Ayah 35

  •  ونضع الموازين القسط

“And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.” Ayah 47

  •  وهذا ذكر مبرك انزلنه This Quran is blessed reminder:

“And this [Qur’an] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted?”Ayah 50

  •  وماارسلنكالارحمة للعلمين Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is mercy to all mankind:

“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.” Ayah 107

  •  رب لا تذرني فردا و انت خير الوارثين

“And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, “My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors.” So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.” Ayah 89-90

Lessons we learnt:

– Rush to good deeds

– Make dua with hope and fear

– Be humble

  • وربناالرحمنالمستعان

[The Prophet] has said, “My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe.” Ayah 112

Let’s get ready for our accounts . Every one of us is going to die. And the scales of justice is going to count our amal – our deeds. This quran is a reminder so go back to this every day. Follow prophet’s ﷺ  teachings, sunnah. And our Rabb – Judge, He helps whoever asks His help. So let us work hard for that day of qiyamah, which is near.

  • Allah subhana’watalah has told us about supplications of different Prophets, how they call Allah with fear and hope and Allah has accepted their duas. So, we should ask Him with those words.
